About Dr. Kafka
Dr. Kafka primarily adopts a Cognitive-Behavioural therapeutic approach in his sessions. He also has been trained in other therapeutic approaches integrating elements of Dialectical Behavioural therapy, Mindfulness-Based therapeutic approaches, and Non-Directive and Solution Focused approaches in his work.
Dr. Kafka has been working in the mental health field for the past 15 years. During that time, Dr. Kafka has worked in a variety of different clinical settings gaining knowledge, experience and skills that he brings to his current practice. Dr. Kafka has worked in community mental health settings, with social service agencies, acute psychiatric units in general hospitals and in mental health facilities. He has also worked in psycho-social rehabilitation settings and in private practice scenarios.
Dr. Kafka completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Psychology from University of Winnipeg and obtained an Masters of Science in Life Span Developmental Psychology from Memorial University. He earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from Lakehead University. Dr. Kafka is a member of the Manitoba Psychological Society and the Canadian Psychological Association.
