All information is confidential with certain exceptions that Dr. Kafka would be happy to discuss with you along with any other questions you may have about receiving psychological services.
Psychological services may be supported by many private health care plans. It is recommended that people check with their health care plan provider to ensure that the services of a registered clinical psychologist are covered. Fees charged are based on the recommended guidelines set by the Manitoba Psychological Society.
For those with extended health care plans, upon receiving payment after the session Dr. Kafka will issue a detailed receipt that clients can then submit for reimbursement. Fees that are not reimbursable by insurance may be deducted as a medical expense on federal income tax returns.
Types of Insurance
Extended Health Care Plans provided by companies such as Blue Cross, Great West Life or Green Shield or Sun Life can be obtained through a person's work or if they are a student through their post-secondary institution.
If a person has had a motor vehicle accident Manitoba Public Insurance may provide coverage for psychological services. Dr. Kafka does provide psychological service to clients covered through Manitoba Public Insurance.
Workman's Compensation Board of Manitoba may provide coverage for a person with a workplace injury.
People who have had a residential school experience can be covered by the Indian Residential School Survivor Program through the Federal Government. Dr. Kafka is a provider under the Indian Residential School Survivor Program and First Nations Inuit Health Benefits Program.
Office Policies
Methods of payment include cash, cheque and credit card. Flexible scheduling with day and evening appointments are available. Failure to cancel without 24 hours notice may be subject to a missed appointment fee.
